Would you like to start developing the courage, confidence and skill to step forward and deliver a well-told story that will engage, inform, challenge, entertain, and delight your family, friends or colleagues? Then, for you, this workshop will be another two hours well-spent at The Buchanan District Library. Our chosen genre is non-fiction, which is to say that we will be focusing on telling true stories - at an event, a meeting or around the dinner table - about people, places and events from our respective lives.

Working closely together in a session that promises to be interactive, meaningful and fun, our group will develop a reference “template” that will help guide each participant in their ongoing efforts to identify those moments in their lives that are “story worthy”, and then transform each of these moments into a narrative that incorporates the structure and elements of a story worth telling. Along the way, we will consider together the process of developing your own distinctive voice and speaking style that honor the stories only you will choose to tell.

Hosted by the Story Club of Southwest Michigan. Registration required, call the library to sign up.
Saturday, April 27 from 4-6pm
