This year, the Buchanan District Library applied for an NEA Big Read Grant to fund our One Book | One Buchanan program. Grant requirements meant that we would need to move our community-wide read to the fall, and now that the library's new Community Room is complete, we decided it was the perfect time to pursue this grant.

Award notifications were supposed to be made in April 2025. Unfortunately, due to uncertainty in federal funding sources,  Arts Midwest informed grant applicants in May that notification would be delayed. We are still waiting to hear if our request was funded.

We are committed to the One Book | One Buchanan program and are working on alternate funding. With or without funding from Arts Midwest, the program will move to the fall, starting around September 1st. Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your interest and support!
