Marketing Coordinator

(Please note that this position is only for 5 to 10 hours per week)

Job Description

 The main responsibility of the Marketing Coordinator is to oversee the library’s marketing efforts across multiple print and digital platforms. The Marketing Coordinator will work directly with the Library Director to create and implement a marketing plan that will include (but not be limited to) social media content, email marketing, physical mailings, in-library displays, and print content such as newsletters and fliers.

 Requirements:  A college degree is preferable. Intermediate computer skills are required to fulfill the job responsibilities. Experience in marketing and/or graphic design is preferred. Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite is strongly preferred. This position requires a high level of attention to detail.

 Marketing Coordinator Duties:

  • Work with the Library Director to create and maintain a Marketing Plan. Actively enlist the help of other library staff when necessary to achieve the goals of the Marketing Plan.
  • Maintain a regular presence on social media platforms through the creation of original content.
  • Work with the Library Director to ensure that monthly email and bimonthly print newsletters are published on schedule.
  • Work with the Library Director and Programming Coordinator to promote library programs, both on digital platforms and with print fliers, etc.
  • Assist the Library Director with fundraising mailings.
  • Work with other library staff to coordinate seasonal/special library displays.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of library fundraising events.
  • Other marketing related duties as assigned.

Hours and Location: This is a part-time position (5 to 10 hours a week) and reports directly to the Library Director. A regular schedule will be decided at hire and may be negotiated as needed by the library or the employee. Full details of employment, benefits and policies are included in the personnel policy. All employees will receive a copy of this policy at hire. All employment is at will.

Physical Requirements: Physical agility and strength to bend, reach, and carry library materials up to 40lbs, see, hear, and speak understandably, and manually manipulate computer keyboard, mouse, and other library technology.
