Summer Reading Program

The image promotes the "Unearth a Story" Summer Reading Program 2026, featuring dinosaurs and a jungle theme.

Welcome to the Buchanan District Library's Summer Reading Program 2026!

Join us on our dinosaur adventure as we Unearth a StoryThis year’s theme encourages you to “dig in” and uncover the joy of discovery that reading brings! Everyone can participate in this points-based reading program for all ages.

Summer Reading is again online using Beanstack! Register online or in the library starting June 1. Everyone who registers gets a free book!

Track your reading in minutes from June 12 through August 1 using Beanstack or a paper log (stop by the library to pick up a paper log).

Earn points for logging reading, writing reviews, attending events, and completing activities. Points are redeemable for Reading Rewards starting June 19 (for adults too!). Redeem them each week or save them up for a bigger prize!

Top two readers in each age category will earn awards, and there will also be a random drawing for each age category. Youth awards will be presented at the Stop, Lunch, & Listen Summer Reading Carnival on August 6 at noon on the Common Stage. Thanks to the Buchanan Lodge #68 Free & Accepted Masons for sponsoring our awards!

Check out our Beanstack Challenge page for more details!

Stop, Lunch, & Listen

Stop, Lunch, & Listen programs will be on the Common (weather permitting) on Thursdays at noon, June 18 through August 6. Thanks to the City of Buchanan for partnering with us on these events!
