In May of 2024, the Library was approached by John Murphy, husband of Wendy Murphy, the former head of the Little Bucks Bookmobile program and teacher at Ottawa Elementary. Wendy sadly passed away in April of 2024, and John, along with Wendy’s colleagues at Buchanan Community Schools who had worked with her on the Bookmobile, wanted to see the program continue as a way to honor her.

Ownership of the Bookmobile was transfered to the Library, and programming begin in the summer of 2025. Look for the Bookmobile at our Storytime in the Parks program in partnership with Buchanan Area Parks & Recreation (and possibly other places, stay tuned).

Wendy worked incredibly hard to bring a bookmobile program to Buchanan, and we are so humbled and honored to be given the opportunity to continue her vision.
