Closing Notices

In the event the library will be closed for a holiday or other scheduled closing, notices will be posted on the library's Facebook and Instagram pages, on the main page of our website, on our website calendar, and on the library doors.

For unscheduled closings such as inclement weather or power outages, notices will be posted on the library's Facebook and Instagram pages, on the  main page of our website, as well as WSBT and WNDU's closings lists. If staff is able to get to the library, signs will be placed on the library doors as well.

Inclement Weather

The library will close when conditions are such that opening or remaining open could be harmful to staff or patrons, but it does not automatically close when Buchanan Schools close. If we do close, we will post in the above mentioned places. When in doubt, call before you head out in bad weather to be sure we're open.

Holidays

The Library will be closed on the following holidays:

• New Year’s Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving
• Friday after Thanksgiving
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve

If the holiday falls on a day the library is normally closed (Sunday or Monday) the Board of Trustees and the Library Director will consider closing on an adjacent day in observance of the holiday.
