1. Draw your bookmark design within the box (make sure anything really important is inside the light grey line).

2. Please draw it by hand (no computer art). Both color and black & white designs are okay!

3. Fill out contact info and circle category for entry:
Preschool (0–5)
Elementary (6–11)
Middle/High School (12–17)
Adult (18+)
(If you are on the “edge” of a category pick the one you want to be included in!)

4. Return your design to Buchanan District Library by March 31, 2026 at 7pm.

5. The winning bookmarks will be printed and available at Buchanan District Library starting April 18 (the start of National Library Week!) and as long as supplies last.

 Guidelines:

• One entry per person.
• Bookmarks will be judged (by library staff and the Board of Trustees) on originality, design, and reproducibility.
• Original entries only. DO NOT trace, use a computer to create art, use AI generated images, or copyrighted images, such as cartoon characters.
• Bonus points if your design incorporates the 2026 National Library Week Theme Find Your Joy.
• All entries must be clear and reproducible. Bold designs will reproduce better. When usingmarkers, avoid fluorescent or neon colors.
• Use this exact form, do not change the size.
• Keep important design details inside the light grey line (trim line) but do extend your design all the way to the thick black line (bleed line).
Entries must be received by March 31, 2026 at 7pm.

Artwork entered in this contest becomes the property of Buchanan District Library. The artist’s name and age (if under 18) will be displayed with the design both in print and digital forms.
