Verbal Combat: The Debate! (in partnership with Cultural Arts Everywhere)

A fun, fast-paced workshop designed to help tweens and teens find their voice and speak with confidence. Participants learn how to build strong arguments, think critically, and express their ideas clearly and respectfully. Through interactive games, team debates, and real-world topics, students practice listening, responding, and standing up for their viewpoints in a supportive environment. This workshop builds communication skills, boosts self-confidence, and empowers young people to engage thoughtfully with the world around them. Lunch is provided. Teen Takeover is every Wednesday in July from 10am to 2pm

Calling all tweens and teens (ages 11–17)! Join us every Wednesday in July from 10am to 2pm to be part of our Teen Takeover! A FREE lunch will be provided at these extended programs, which will include some time spent doing service projects (cleaning up around the Common, light gardening, etc.), participating in activities to promote leadership, creativity, and problem solving, and time to hang out with friends in the library’s Community Room. Registration is requested but not required.
